A charity whose centres across the UK, and online service, give free practical, emotional and benefits support to anyone affected by cancer and their families.
Maggie's was founded by Maggie Keswick Jencks, who used her own experience of living with advanced cancer to create a new kind of cancer care; the first centre opened in Edinburgh in 1996, and the charity says it has supported more than 4 million people since. Its centres across the UK, in buildings and gardens designed for the purpose, and its online service offer free support to anyone affected by cancer and their families. The Scottish Charity Register lists it as the Maggie Keswick Jencks Cancer Caring Centres Trust (SC024414), registered from 3 January 1996, and describes support for every type and stage of cancer: information, benefits and welfare support, psychological support, courses and stress reduction. The register records income of about £33.9 million for the year ending 31 December 2025. Its registered office is in Glasgow.
