National Cancer Institute, Lithuania

The National Cancer Institute (Nacionalinis vėžio institutas) is Lithuania's specialised state cancer treatment and research institution, combining a cancer hospital with research laboratories in tumour biology, immunology and biobanking. It provides surgical oncology, radiotherapy, medical oncology and nuclear medicine, runs the country's largest oncology clinical trials portfolio, and works with Vilnius University on translational research and training. It is accredited by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes as a Cancer Centre and coordinates national screening and cancer control programmes with the Ministry of Health.
