Overview
Tampere University Hospital (Tays) serves the Pirkanmaa region and is the teaching hospital of Tampere University. Its Cancer Centre hosts the Central Finland Cancer Centre (FICAN Mid) within the Finnish Cancer Centre network and was accredited by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes as a Cancer Centre. Tampere's cancer research is known for prostate cancer genetics and genomics, gastrointestinal surgery, and radiotherapy, working with Tampere University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology and with the Finnish Cancer Registry on national screening evaluation.
