Nova Scotia Health Cancer Care Program (QEII)
Nova Scotia's provincial cancer programme, centred on the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax with Dalhousie University.
Overview
The Nova Scotia Health Cancer Care Program (formerly Cancer Care Nova Scotia) plans and delivers cancer services across the province, with its principal treatment site at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax and a second radiotherapy centre, the Cape Breton Cancer Centre in Sydney. It runs the provincial breast, cervical and colon screening programmes and the Nova Scotia Cancer Registry, and is the tertiary cancer centre for the Maritime provinces for services such as stem cell transplantation. Research is carried out with Dalhousie University's Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute and through Canadian Cancer Trials Group participation.
