A volunteer-run peer support community, started in 1998, for patients and carers living with appendix cancer and pseudomyxoma peritonei, with free twice-weekly video support calls and a directory of specialist surgeons.
PMP Pals calls itself the oldest global, volunteer-run, peer-to-peer support community for patients and caregivers living with appendix cancer, pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) and related peritoneal surface malignancies, according to its home page. Its founder page says Gabriella Graham and nine other patients and caregivers in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States founded it in 1998 to offer references and referrals to PMP patients; Graham died in 2014. The home page describes free twice-weekly HOPE Zoom support calls run by volunteers, pal mentors, a Facebook group and a list of appendix cancer specialists, surgical oncologists and hospitals experienced in treating PMP. The IRS records it in Manchaca, Texas, with tax exemption issued in November 2015.
