Overview
The Japanese Journal of Clinical Oncology describes itself as the first journal from Japan to publish clinical research on cancer in English. It began in 1971 and has been published by Oxford University Press since 1997; NLM records that it is supported by funds from the Society for Promotion of Cancer Research and that it appears monthly, online only since January 2018. It is multidisciplinary, covering medical oncology, clinical trials, radiology, surgery, basic research, epidemiology and palliative care, with particular emphasis on the Asian region. Article types include original articles, case reports, clinical trial notes, cancer genetics reports, epidemiology notes, technical notes, short communications, letters and solicited reviews. The access model is hybrid: current content is by subscription with an open access option, and articles become freely accessible between 12 months and 5 years after publication.
