Surgeon-scientist who led the TCGA endometrial cancer study that created today's four molecular subtypes.
Overview
Douglas Levine led the TCGA integrated genomic characterisation of endometrial carcinoma, which defined the POLE ultramutated, microsatellite-unstable, copy-number-low and copy-number-high (p53-abnormal) subtypes now embedded in international guidelines and trials. He also co-led the TCGA ovarian cancer analysis and directs gynaecologic oncology at NYU Langone, where his laboratory studies the origins of high-grade serous cancer.
