Overview
Jean-Pascal Machiels heads medical oncology at Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc in Brussels and chairs the EORTC head and neck cancer group. He was first author of the 2024 Lancet Oncology report of KEYNOTE-412, the phase 3 trial of pembrolizumab with and after cisplatin-based chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced head and neck squamous-cell carcinoma, which did not reach statistical significance for event-free survival, and of the European guidelines for the disease.
