Overview
Jeffrey Gershenwald is a surgical oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He chaired the American Joint Committee on Cancer melanoma expert panel and was first author of the 2017 CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians paper presenting the eighth-edition melanoma staging system, which refined the T, N and M categories using data from more than 46,000 patients. He also studies sentinel node biopsy and the molecular biology of melanoma progression.
