Italy offers girls and boys vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) in its national schedule, introduced in 2009; WHO's latest schedule lists two doses at age 11.
WHO's immunization data record HPV vaccine as introduced in Italy in 2009. In the 2025 data the introduction is recorded as nationwide. The routine schedule reported to WHO for 2025 gives two doses of nine-valent vaccine to girls and boys at age 11, the later dose 6 months after the previous dose. The country's note in the WHO schedule table reads: "females and males x2 doses, and MSM x3 doses". WHO also lists additional doses for risk groups or catch-up cohorts in the same table. For hepatitis B vaccine, WHO records the birth dose as given to risk groups only in 2025.
