Agenus

Agenus, based in Lexington, Massachusetts and listed on Nasdaq, develops checkpoint antibodies and cancer vaccines. Its lead combination is botensilimab, a next-generation anti-CTLA-4 antibody with an engineered Fc region, given with balstilimab, an anti-PD-1 antibody, which has shown responses in microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer without liver metastases and other cold tumours; the company has sought accelerated approval and runs registrational trials. In January 2026 it completed the sale of its manufacturing operations to Zydus for USD 75 million before closing deductions, which also brought into effect a licence giving Zydus the combination in India and Sri Lanka. In July 2026 it raised about USD 85 million upfront in a private placement to fund ROBBIN, a planned registrational phase 3 trial of botensilimab and balstilimab given before surgery in microsatellite-stable colon cancer, and said it would stop funding the BATTMAN phase 3 trial in late-line metastatic disease.
