Daehwa Pharmaceutical
Daehwa is a Korean pharmaceutical company whose oral paclitaxel (Liporaxel) was approved in Korea for gastric cancer after a phase 3 trial it led, one of the few oral formulations of a taxane to reach the market.
Overview
Daehwa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., founded in 1984 and based in Seoul, developed Liporaxel, an oral liquid formulation of paclitaxel that uses a lipid-based system to achieve absorption, and won Korean approval for advanced gastric cancer on a phase 3 trial against intravenous paclitaxel. Further phase 3 trials in breast cancer are registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under Daehwa as lead sponsor.
