Lisata Therapeutics
Lisata is a New Jersey biotech developing certepetide, a peptide that opens up the dense stroma of pancreatic tumours so chemotherapy can reach the cancer cells; it is tested with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel.
Overview
Lisata Therapeutics, formed when Caladrius Biosciences merged with Cend Therapeutics in 2022 and based in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, develops certepetide (LSTA1, formerly CEND-1), a cyclic peptide that binds alpha-v integrins and neuropilin-1 to increase drug penetration into solid tumours. It is tested in metastatic pancreatic cancer with standard chemotherapy and in other stroma-rich tumours, registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under Lisata as lead sponsor.
