Medigene
Medigene is a Munich-area biotech that develops T-cell receptor therapies and once sold a dendritic-cell vaccine programme; its earlier oncology products included the drug Veregen and phase 3 trials that carry its name.
Overview
Medigene AG, founded in 1994 and based in Planegg near Munich, discovers T-cell receptors for engineered T-cell therapies against solid tumours and licenses them to partners. Earlier it developed and sold Veregen (sinecatechins) and EndoTAG-1, a cationic liposomal paclitaxel taken to phase 3 in pancreatic cancer by its licensee, and ran a dendritic-cell vaccine programme in acute myeloid leukaemia. Its trials are registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under Medigene as lead sponsor.
