Paxman
Paxman is the British maker of the Paxman Scalp Cooling System, a chilled cap worn during chemotherapy to reduce hair loss, cleared in the United States in 2017 and used in cancer centres across the world.
Overview
Paxman, based in Huddersfield and listed on London's AIM market, developed its refrigerated scalp cooling system from the family's drinks-cooling business after a relative's chemotherapy. The system was cleared by the FDA in 2017 for breast cancer and later for solid tumours, and the company is developing cooling for chemotherapy-induced neuropathy.
