Lightpoint Medical
Lightpoint Medical is a British company that built LightPath, which images the faint Cerenkov light from PET tracers in a freshly removed tumour specimen, and SENSEI, a tiny gamma probe that a surgical robot can hold to find radioactive lymph nodes.
Overview
Lightpoint Medical, founded in 2012, developed Cerenkov luminescence imaging for intraoperative margin assessment, trialled in prostatectomy after gallium-68 PSMA injection, and the SENSEI drop-in gamma probe for robot-assisted sentinel node and PSMA-radioguided surgery, which is CE-marked and FDA-cleared. It works with radiopharmaceutical and robotics partners.
