Vor Biopharma
Vor is a Cambridge cell-therapy company that edits the CD33 gene out of donor stem cells so that leukaemia patients can receive CD33-targeting therapy after transplant without harming their new marrow.
Overview
Vor Biopharma, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, developed trem-cel (VOR33), donor haematopoietic stem cells with CD33 removed by gene editing, given as a transplant graft so that a subsequent CD33-directed antibody-drug conjugate or CAR-T can attack acute myeloid leukaemia while sparing the graft. Its trials in AML are registered on ClinicalTrials.gov under Vor as lead sponsor, and the company restructured in 2025 to pursue an in-licensed autoimmune programme.
