The membership association of academic cancer centres in the United States and Canada; its member directory is a way to find the academic cancer centre nearest to you.
The Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI) describes itself as the only membership association dedicated to academic cancer centers, representing more than 100 academic and freestanding cancer centres in the United States and Canada. Its stated mission is accelerating progress against cancer by enhancing the impact of academic cancer centers and promoting cancer health equity. It works by promoting recognition of the cancer centre network, educating policymakers and fostering partnerships among centres. Its Cellular Therapy Initiative, formerly its CAR T Initiative, brings together cellular therapy leaders at member centres to share practice, and with the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy and the Association of Community Cancer Centers it runs RECUR, which aims to speed referral for CAR T therapy. It holds an annual Hill Day in Washington with the American Association for Cancer Research and an annual Clinical Research Innovation meeting. Its mailing address is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
