Case Comprehensive Cancer Center
The NCI comprehensive consortium uniting Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center and Cleveland Clinic.
NCI-designated since 1987 and comprehensive since 1998, Case Comprehensive Cancer Center is a consortium of Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center and Cleveland Clinic's Taussig Cancer Institute. Sanford Markowitz's colon cancer genetics (TGF-beta receptor II inactivation, 15-PGDH) led to stool methylated-DNA screening markers and chemoprevention concepts; UH Seidman opened a compact Mevion proton centre in 2016. The consortium offers patients across north-east Ohio a shared portfolio of NCI cooperative group and investigator-initiated trials, and its members include Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Research Institute.
