The NHS genetics service for the Central and South region of England: if your cancer or family history meets the national criteria, your hospital team or GP refers you here for genetic counselling and inherited cancer gene tests, free on the NHS.
The Central and South Genomic Medicine Service combines its Genomic Medicine Service Alliance and laboratory hub; it states that clinicians ordering a genomic test should make sure the patient, carer or family member knows the purpose of the test. It is one of seven Genomic Laboratory Hubs that together co-ordinate all NHS genomic testing in England, each paired with a regional Genomic Medicine Service Alliance that delivers the clinical care of patients having genomic testing (Health Education England's GeNotes). The lead trust is Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
