Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) / Ludwig Institute Lausanne

aka CHUV, Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois, Swiss Cancer Center Léman, AGORA Cancer Research Center

Lausanne's university hospital and Ludwig branch, home of the temozolomide glioblastoma trial, Solange Peters and a leading personalised T-cell therapy programme.

The CHUV Department of Oncology, headed by Solange Peters (ESMO president 2020-2021), works with the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Lausanne branch under George Coukos, the University of Lausanne, EPFL's ISREC institute and the Geneva hospitals within the Swiss Cancer Center Léman, housed in the AGORA research building opened in 2018. Roger Stupp led from Lausanne the EORTC/NCIC trial that made radiotherapy plus temozolomide the standard for glioblastoma, and Douglas Hanahan, author of 'The Hallmarks of Cancer', directed ISREC. The Ludwig groups run personalised tumour-infiltrating lymphocyte and neoantigen-targeted T-cell trials in ovarian and other cancers, and the hospital is a major thoracic oncology and immunotherapy trial site with a phase 1 unit.
