Jean Bourhis
Radiation oncologist behind the MACH-NC meta-analyses that proved chemoradiotherapy helps head and neck cancer, and the first FLASH-treated patient.
Overview
Jean Bourhis led the MACH-NC individual patient data meta-analyses showing that concomitant chemotherapy adds about 6.5% absolute survival to radiotherapy in head and neck cancer, and the MARCH meta-analysis of altered fractionation, both of which set global standards. He treated the first patient with FLASH radiotherapy in 2018 and leads the clinical FLASH programme at CHUV.
