Overview
Monika Hegi led the 2005 NEJM study, companion to the Stupp trial, showing that glioblastoma patients with a methylated MGMT promoter gain most from temozolomide chemoradiotherapy, establishing the first predictive biomarker in neuro-oncology and the basis for treatment selection in elderly patients. She leads translational research for EORTC brain tumour trials.
