European Cancer Organisation
The Brussels-based federation of European oncology societies and patient groups that speaks for the whole cancer community on policy.
Founded in 1981 as the Federation of European Cancer Societies and later known as ECCO, the European Cancer Organisation is the multidisciplinary umbrella of European professional oncology societies together with a patient advisory committee. It convenes the annual European Cancer Summit, publishes the Essential Requirements for Quality Cancer Care and works through focused networks on topics such as workforce, inequalities, HPV elimination, survivorship and digital health; its 'Time to Act' campaign documented the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on cancer care. It advocates for Europe's Beating Cancer Plan and the EU Cancer Mission.
