A European Union project, coordinated by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes, that measured how developed each country's comprehensive cancer centres and networks are and offered training and on-site help, first to countries that had none.
CCI4EU (CORDIS project 101103746, topic HORIZON-MISS-2022-CANCER-01-02, "Strengthening research capacities of Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures") ran from 1 May 2023 to 30 April 2026 with a total cost and EU contribution of about EUR 10.0 million, coordinated by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI) in Brussels. Starting from wide variation in access to research, innovation and quality care between and within countries, it set out to define a maturity model for comprehensive cancer infrastructures with quality indicators, profile the infrastructures in each member state and some associated countries, design tailored capacity-building interventions giving priority to member states without any, deliver online training open to all and targeted on-site interventions, and work with national focal points and related actions such as CRANE, JANE and UNCAN.
