A European Union project, coordinated by Portugal's clinical research agency, that helps each country set up a national hub where patients, citizens, researchers and policymakers work together on the EU's cancer research goals.
ECHoS (CORDIS project 101104587, topic HORIZON-MISS-2022-CANCER-01-05) ran from 1 April 2023 to 30 June 2026 with a total cost of about EUR 6.2 million and an EU contribution of about EUR 6.1 million, coordinated by AICIB, the Portuguese Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation, in Porto. It set out to foster National Cancer Mission Hubs in member states and associated countries, through which organised stakeholders and individual citizens collaborate and take part in policy dialogue, and to produce models and guidelines for sustainable hubs, a knowledge exchange programme, impact models and training sets for engaging stakeholders, a toolkit for working with other European initiatives, a business continuity model for a long-term EU network of hubs, and a calendar of awareness events.
