A European Union research programme, part of Horizon Europe, with the goal of improving the lives of more than 3 million people affected by cancer by 2030. It pays for projects on understanding cancer, prevention and early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and quality of life.
The European Commission states the Mission's goal as to "improve the lives of more than 3 million people by 2030, through prevention, cure and for those affected by cancer including their families, to live longer and better". It works across four objectives (understanding cancer, prevention and early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and improving quality of life) and prioritises cross-cutting themes including citizen and stakeholder engagement, equitable access, childhood cancer, innovation and personalised medicine. The Commission describes it as fully integrated with Europe's Beating Cancer Plan. Its projects are funded as Horizon Europe actions under topics coded HORIZON-MISS-<year>-CANCER; those with records in OnCo are linked here.
