A European Union project, coordinated by the Princess Máxima Center in Utrecht, that is writing a European guideline for checking young adult cancer survivors for late effects of treatment and testing it with 1,000 survivors in 11 countries.
PanCare4AYA (CORDIS project 101213107, topic HORIZON-MISS-2024-CANCER-01-05) runs from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2030 with a total cost and EU contribution of about EUR 5.8 million, coordinated by the Princess Máxima Center for Paediatric Oncology in Utrecht. It will develop an international clinical guideline for late-effect screening and follow-up of survivors of adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer and implement it through a person-centred programme, the AYA Cancer Survivor Screen, including peer support. An implementation study will involve 1,000 survivors in Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK, measuring empowerment, mental health, psychosocial functioning and other quality-of-life outcomes, healthcare delivery, and feasibility, with digital tools in France, Italy, Lithuania and the Netherlands.
