A European Union project, coordinated by Milan's national cancer institute, that is building and testing a digital questionnaire, designed with patients, to measure the quality of life of people with cancer and survivors in every EU language.
EUonQoL (CORDIS project 101096362, topic HORIZON-MISS-2021-CANCER-02-02) runs from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2026 with a total cost and EU contribution of about EUR 10.6 million, coordinated by Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan. It aims to develop, pilot and validate the EUonQoL-Kit, a patient-driven, digitally administered system for assessing quality of life based on the evaluations and preferences of patients and survivors, available in the languages of the EU27 and associated countries. The kit is co-designed with patient representatives, health professionals, administrators, policymakers and citizens, reviewed against existing quality-of-life tools, and validated in a digital pilot survey of 4,000 patients and survivors enrolled through European cancer centres. The project also coordinates a quality-of-life and patient-centred care cluster across Cancer Mission projects.
