University of Galway / Saolta Cancer Centre

Galway University Hospitals form one of the eight designated cancer centres of Ireland's National Cancer Control Programme and the academic cancer centre for HSE West North West, in partnership with the University of Galway. The centre provides medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology and haematology for the western seaboard and hosts the Lambe Institute for Translational Research and the university's Cancer Research programme, with strengths in breast cancer, prostate cancer and translational biomarker work. It is accredited by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes as a Cancer Centre.
