Institut National du Cancer
aka INCa, French National Cancer Institute
France's national cancer agency, which steers the national cancer strategy and funds and labels research, trial networks and early-phase units.
Created by the 2004 public health law as the operational arm of the first Plan Cancer, INCa is a public interest group under the health and research ministries. It coordinates the ten-year national cancer strategy, funds research through calls such as PAIR and PHRC-K, labels the SIRIC integrated research sites and the CLIP² early-phase trial network, and ran the AcSé programme that gave patients access to targeted drugs outside their approved indication based on molecular profile. It publishes national guidelines, screening programmes and cancer statistics with Santé publique France.
