Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Jefferson Health
Thomas Jefferson University's NCI-designated cancer centre, known for prostate cancer biology and GUCY2C-targeted colorectal cancer immunotherapy.
NCI-designated since 1996, the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center serves Philadelphia and southern New Jersey through Jefferson Health's hospital network. Scott Waldman identified guanylyl cyclase C (GUCY2C) as a colorectal cancer antigen and has carried vaccines and CAR-T against it into trials. Karen Knudsen, former director and later CEO of the American Cancer Society, built its androgen receptor and prostate cancer programme with urologist Leonard Gomella; Adam Dicker leads radiation oncology. The centre is a member of the NCI's cooperative group network and runs a community outreach programme across its catchment.
