Queen Mary Hospital / University of Hong Kong

Queen Mary Hospital, opened in 1937, is the teaching hospital of the University of Hong Kong's Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine and hosts the HKU Clinical Trials Centre and the Hong Kong Cancer Registry's largest referral base. HKU surgeons under Sheung-Tat Fan and Chung-Mau Lo pioneered adult right-lobe living-donor liver transplantation and set standards for hepatocellular carcinoma resection, while HKU's Centre for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Research and its clinical oncologists have shaped EBV-DNA based staging and induction chemotherapy in NPC. The hospital also runs the territory's bone marrow transplant service and phase 1 unit, and HKU pathology contributed to early CAR-T and hepatitis-B related HCC studies. HKU is a partner of the Hong Kong Genome Project.
