Alexander E. Perl
Led ADMIRAL, which made gilteritinib the standard for relapsed FLT3-mutant AML.
Overview
Alexander Perl was principal investigator of ADMIRAL, which showed the FLT3 inhibitor gilteritinib doubles survival versus salvage chemotherapy in relapsed or refractory FLT3-mutant AML, the first randomised trial to establish single-agent targeted therapy in the disease. He led the earlier phase 1/2 gilteritinib study and studies of resistance to FLT3 inhibition. He leads AML clinical research at Penn.
