Overview
Andrew Mesecar is the Robert W. Miller Director of the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research (PICR), one of only seven NCI-designated basic science cancer centres in the United States. He is Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry, Walther Professor of Cancer Structural Biology and Assistant Vice President for Research at Purdue University, and a member of the institute's Targets, Structures and Drugs programme. The institute's directory lists him at the head of a senior leadership team that includes deputy director Andrea Kasinski, associate directors Deborah Knapp and Dorothy Teegarden and senior managing director Douglas Cuttell. PICR describes its mission as promoting basic discovery, transdisciplinary collaboration and an improved drug discovery pipeline.
