Overview
Professor Maneesha S Inamdar is Director of the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (BRIC-inStem), the Bengaluru institute under India's Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council that describes itself as the country's premier hub for stem cell science and regenerative medicine, working under the motto 'Without Barriers; Across Disciplines'. In her Director's note for 2024 to 2025 she highlights a new BSL-3 facility under the National One Health Mission, the flagship ESCORT and WoRtH programmes, the launch of CReATE for embryology research, a myogenesis experiment flown on the International Space Station during the Axiom-4 mission, completion by the Centre for Stem Cell Research of India's first gene therapy trial for haemophilia A, and the commercialisation of the Kisan Kavach anti-pesticide bodysuit through the spin-off Sepio Health.
