Farhat Abbas (MD, FCPS, FRCS, FRCSEd, FEBU, FACS) is Chief Executive Officer of The Aga Khan University Hospital and Health System, Pakistan, and also Special Advisor to the President and Husein Cumber Professor of Surgery (Urology) at Aga Khan University. In his welcome message he describes a relationship with AKU spanning more than 40 years, training as a surgeon and serving in multiple roles across the university and its health services. The hospital's page notes that in 2024 nearly 1.5 million patients received financial support through its Patient Welfare and Zakat programmes, and that it is accredited by Joint Commission International and the College of American Pathologists.
