Helen Mertens

Helen Mertens is Voorzitter (chair) of the Raad van Bestuur of academisch ziekenhuis Maastricht and Maastricht UMC+, the university medical centre whose Oncologiecentrum operates as the Maastricht UMC+ Comprehensive Cancer Center. She studied medicine in Maastricht, specialised in obstetrics and gynaecology and obtained her PhD in 2002 on gynaecological cancer research; before joining the board she was medical director at Orbis Medisch Centrum.
