A Royal Marsden gastrointestinal oncologist who has shaped UK colorectal and upper gastrointestinal trials and who works on the blood test for residual disease after bowel surgery.
Ian Chau is a consultant medical oncologist in the gastrointestinal and lymphoma units at The Royal Marsden and a professor at the Institute of Cancer Research in London and Surrey. He has served on the UK National Cancer Research Institute's colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer clinical study groups, and in 2026 was named a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is an author on the TRACC Part B minimal residual disease analysis.
