Ignace Vergote
Led the EORTC trial that made neoadjuvant chemotherapy acceptable in ovarian cancer and innovaTV 301, the first ADC survival win in cervical cancer.
Overview
Ignace Vergote was principal investigator of EORTC 55971, which showed neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by interval surgery is non-inferior to primary surgery in advanced ovarian cancer with less morbidity, and of innovaTV 301, in which tisotumab vedotin improved survival in recurrent cervical cancer. He founded the ENGOT network of European gynaecological trial groups and has led more than 30 phase 3 trials.
