Andreas du Bois
Surgeon who chairs the German AGO group and led DESKTOP III, proving secondary surgery can extend survival in selected relapsed ovarian cancer.
Overview
Andreas du Bois (Kliniken Essen-Mitte) chairs the AGO ovarian cancer study group, whose trials established carboplatin-paclitaxel as standard and defined the prognostic value of complete cytoreduction. He was principal investigator of DESKTOP III, which showed secondary cytoreductive surgery improves overall survival in AGO-score-positive platinum-sensitive relapse, and of the TRUST trial of primary versus interval surgery.
