Joe Chang led the pooled STARS and ROSEL analysis and the revised STARS trial suggesting stereotactic ablative radiotherapy matches lobectomy for operable stage I NSCLC, results that opened the surgery-versus-SABR debate. He directs thoracic radiation oncology at MD Anderson and studies proton therapy and radiotherapy-immunotherapy combinations.
