Jeffrey D. Bradley
Led RTOG 0617, the trial that showed higher radiation doses do not help in stage III lung cancer and set today's 60 Gy standard.
Overview
Jeffrey Bradley was principal investigator of RTOG 0617, which unexpectedly found that escalating the dose to 74 Gy worsened survival compared with 60 Gy in stage III NSCLC, a result that fixed the standard dose and refocused the field on precision and cardiac sparing. He led the NRG proton-versus-photon lung trial and chairs thoracic radiotherapy committees in NRG Oncology.
