John P. Leonard
New York lymphoma specialist who led AUGMENT, the trial that established lenalidomide plus rituximab as a chemotherapy-free option for relapsed follicular and marginal zone lymphoma.
Overview
John Leonard is a lymphoma specialist and senior leader at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York. He was first author of the 2019 Journal of Clinical Oncology report of AUGMENT, which showed that lenalidomide plus rituximab improved progression-free survival compared with rituximab alone in relapsed or refractory indolent lymphoma, leading to the combination's approval. He has led many cooperative-group trials in indolent and aggressive B-cell lymphoma.
