Joseph Gligorov

Joseph Gligorov is Directeur Exécutif of the Institut Universitaire de Cancérologie (IUC) AP-HP Sorbonne Université, which coordinates cancer care, teaching and research across the AP-HP Sorbonne Université hospital group and the university's health faculty. He is professor of medical oncology at Sorbonne Université, practises in the medical oncology department of Hôpital Tenon in Paris and belongs to the Inserm U938 team on cancer biology and treatment; his research concerns breast cancer and predictive factors of response to anticancer treatment, he directs the Nice-St Paul de Vence breast cancer guidelines conference and he co-founded and chairs the Mediterranean oncology association AROME. In a 2023 interview with the Sorbonne Université Faculté de Santé, as director of the IUC, he described the institute's creation by Dean Serge Uzan and its accreditation as an OECI 'Comprehensive Cancer Center', and AP-HP reported in February 2026 on the institute's annual scientific day.
