Overview
Professor Julian Redhead is Trust Chief Executive of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the London teaching hospital trust whose sites include Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's hospitals and which hosts cancer care and research with Imperial College London. He took up the post in April 2026, having previously been the Trust's medical director alongside a national role as NHS England's clinical director for urgent and emergency care. He joined the Trust full time in 2004 as a consultant in emergency medicine after four years as a consultant at Ealing Hospital, became chief of service for emergency medicine in 2008, and has since held roles including clinical programme group director for medicine, divisional director for investigative and supporting sciences, associate medical director for professional development and interim chief executive. The Trust's chief executive is accountable to the chief executive of the North West London Acute Group.
