Overview
Júlio Oliveira is Presidente do Conselho de Administração of the Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto Francisco Gentil (IPO Porto), the National Health Service oncology hospital that is the reference cancer centre for northern Portugal. A medical oncologist, he has chaired the board since it took office in October 2022 and was reappointed for a further three-year term in 2026. In 2024 he was elected to the board of the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI) as Executive Secretary for the 2024 to 2027 term, and in 2025 he led the creation of an association to promote clinical research at the institute.
