Overview
Mark Emberton was senior investigator of PROMIS and PRECISION, the trials showing that multiparametric MRI before biopsy detects more clinically significant prostate cancers and fewer insignificant ones than standard systematic biopsy, which rewrote diagnostic guidelines worldwide. He pioneered focal therapy with HIFU and cryotherapy and leads interventional oncology research at UCL.
