Principal investigator of CARES-310 (camrelizumab plus rivoceranib versus sorafenib, Lancet 2023), the donafenib versus sorafenib trial (Journal of Clinical Oncology 2021), apatinib in second-line HCC and many Chinese cohorts of global liver cancer trials; past president of the CSCO and author of its liver cancer guidelines. His trials reflect the hepatitis B-driven Chinese HCC population that differs from Western cohorts.
