Houston breast cancer doctor who was lead author of HER2CLIMB, the trial that established tucatinib for HER2-positive breast cancer, including in patients with brain metastases.
Overview
Rashmi Murthy is a breast medical oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She was first author of the 2020 New England Journal of Medicine report of HER2CLIMB, which showed that adding tucatinib to trastuzumab and capecitabine improved progression-free and overall survival in heavily pretreated HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer, with benefit in the large group of patients with brain metastases.
